Why is it important?
Given the current proliferation of civil society organisations (CSOs) and their varying activities in the world today, this paper sought to investigate activities of CSOs in Ghana and how they have promoted democratic consolidation in the country. Aside the fact that the paper contributes to the extant literature on civil society, and it also tries to establish the link that exist between CSOs and democratic consolidation.
Perspectives
The existence of CSOs can be very useful to building strong democracies in developing countries and as such much efforts should be made to encourage independent CSOs, particularly think tanks, to undertake relevant activities that will in the long run ensure development, peace, and stability in any country.
