Why is it important?

Sartori's explanations and his constitutional engineering remain unsurpassed. No decent analysis of Italian politics is conceivable without having mastered Sartori's contributions.

Perspectives

My own criticisms of the structure and the dynamics of the Italian party system are based on Sartori's frameworks. My rejection of the three most recent electoral laws is framed in a Sartorian manner. Even my December 2016 NO vote to the constitutional reforms was inspired by Sartori's definition of what a parliamentary democracy is and how it should work.
