What is it about?

Manual muscle tests are used as an essential tool by clinical therapists in order to evaluate the quality of movements or function of specific muscles. This study evaluated the agreement between two raters of the manual muscle testing procedure included in a Czech physiotherapy method (MFK method). The feasibility of the method, when used in Sweden, was also investigated.

Why is it important?

Although the Czech physiotherapy method (MFK Method) is used in some countries, it has not been scientifically evaluated and its reliability, validity and efficacy are yet to be studied. In addition it is also important to determine how feasible the method is to physiotherapists in the Swedish healthcare system
