What is it about?

Using a technique based on surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), we quantified retinoic acid (vitamin A derivative) levels in different depots of fat (adipose) tissues in mice.

Why is it important?

It has been challenging to measure retinoic acid levels from biological tissues. Now we use a novel approach to quantify them in subcutaneous and visceral fat tissues.
