What is it about?
The aim of the study was to identify teacher educators’ use of digital tools and their need for digital competence in higher education.

Why is it important?
University teachers need to understand the potential of digital tools in education and identify the pedagogical surplus value in their own teaching and learning context with digital tools in order to increase their ability to teach with concrete, effective, and subjectoriented education.
Perspectives
The findings of the study are intended to help teacher educators to better meet the needs and challenges students encounter and to influence and design different teaching situations.
