What is it about?
In this paper we assessed how the changes in land cover in Mozambique impacted the services provided by nature and biodiversity. We used a global land cover data set and Invest models to measure this impact.

Why is it important?
Results show how natural capital has been degraded during the time period considered for the study (2005-2009). Results also show the importance of considering ecosystem services in planning decisions at regional and national levels.
Perspectives
We hope that future planning instruments in Mozambique consider Natural capital explicitly in their actions.
