What is it about?
Significant advances in decomposition research have occurred in the past several decades which aid in the estimation of the postmortem interval, locating clandestine burials, and scene interpretation. An interdisciplinary focus on the ecology of decomposition has greatly advanced our knowledge. This article highlighs fundamental shifts in research and possible future directions.
