What is it about?
The paper monitored the furniture production process of a small furniture industry to access quality in order to find potential improvements to the production process. Data were collected over a 2-month period and statistically analysed. Results suggested that prior sanding of parts resulted in extensive reworking.

Why is it important?
Because quality control tool that are used to analyses the potential causes of problems in the product and we know that 95% of the quality problems that occur in a factory could be solved with quality tools.
Perspectives
The study allowed the observation and analysis of statistical data for the monitoring of the company’s production process, identifying the main problem faced by production, which was the inadequate sandpapering of furniture parts. Furthermore, the study was able to identify that the amount of rework to rectify this problem was unreasonably high and listed the possible causes of the problem, which can now be controlled more closely by the factory. We believe that another factory could be the same problems and could use this work like a model to their processes.
