What is it about?
The study assesses the ease with which users can reach public ICT service centres in remote areas. The distance that separates the prospective users from service centres was measured. The study showed that the distance that separates the prospective users from the nearest public phone and internet service centres are longer than the average of 5km prescribed for effective utilisation of these ICT services.

Why is it important?
The study revealed that in spite of the growth and expansion in the coverage of ICT, many rural areas still do not have the services within their reach. It thus expose the weakness of the universal access policy in Nigeria as in many African countries to address gap in access to ICT services in remote areas.
