What is it about?

The work deals with the prevention of complications on the lower limbs of the diabetic patients. The understanding of the physiopathology of the insidious ulcers and the use of the themogram of the plantar skin may be the clue to prevent complications on the lower limbs. Interesting cases of diabetic patients are discussed.

Why is it important?

The thermogram, a technique to explore the lower limbs off the diabetic patients, provides information about the thermoregulation and the skin vascularization, that is, information from the central nervous and vascular systems, respectively. The thermograms of diabetic patient cases, as function of time, are shown. Furthermore, thermograms of diabetic patients, multiple ulcers and Charcot foot, shown the important role that play the inmune system.

Perspectives

This work may help to explore the lower limbs of the diabetic patients, so as to prevent insidious ulcers.
