What is it about?

The article explores the particular position of Israel in respect to the Armenian-Turkish dispute regarding the 1915 Armenian Genocide, arguing that for more than three decades (1980‒2010) Israel has consciously chosen to reinforce the Turkish narrative for its selfish diplomatic ends.

Why is it important?

What is timely about this article that is underlining the role of Israel, a state that is built on the ashes of the Jewish Holocaust, and its international impact on reinforcing the denial of the 1915 Genocide.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has been a join framework of the doctoral research with earlier phases of my research on this topic. Although It is common knowledge that "Israel does not recognise the Armenian Genocide", the article cast new light on some of the contemporary aspects of Israel's policy on this issue from an overlooked perspective.
