What is it about?

When conducting research its important to consider the world view one holds (step 1) and with it how you understand that view (step 2). Once you understand both of these points then choosing the method of data collection (step 3) becomes easy.

Why is it important?

Because many people carry out research looking at method collection first without thinking about the world view they hold and how they translate that view for work. It makes the research clearer once steps 1 and 2 have been covered

Perspectives

It is important to acknowledge your world view when considering an approach to study. When investigating straight men who occasionally have sex with other men, the investigation has to be an exploratory one that respects the hidden nature of this phenomenon and get the most information.
