Frail elderly present a high prevalence of falls. Falls is the main cause of femur fracture in elderly people. Our results showed that the use of ambulatory assistive devices is important to prevent falls in frail elderly.

Falls in the elderly are a public health problem. So, studying strategies to avoid falls in the elderly population is important

Perspectives

The results of this study showed that frail elderly users of ambulatory assistive tecnology falled when they did not use them. So, geriatric professionals need to emphasize the importance of using the devices by frail elderly during home activities.
