Economic lifetime prediction of a mining drilling machine using an artificial neural network

What is it about?

This study develops models for predicting the economic lifetime of drilling machines used in mining. It uses three cases, each represented by a MATLAB code, to develop an optimization model.

Why is it important?

Mining is a large, integrated, automated and complex industry; having safe, reliable, cost-effective production is a strategic necessity if a company is to meet customer requirements and gain a competitive advantage globally. The present study develops an ANN-based optimization model using available cost data to estimate the ORT of a drilling machine.
