What is it about?

we described the epidemiological features of bacterial infections caused by MDR bacteria in cirrhotic patients and their impact on mortality. we found that MDR bacterial infections, especially CRE, have become frequent in patients with cirrhosis in recent years, and MRSA infections significantly increasing short-term mortality

Why is it important?

our study not only described MDR infections in cirrhotic patients in the area of Zhejiang, China but also for the first time found out that MRSA increasing short-term mortality significantly. we also identified other risk factors for short-term mortality, which is important for clinicians to estimate the prognosis of cirrhotic patients.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. This article also lead to contacting me and ultimately to a greater involvement in the area of infections in cirrhotic patients in the world with other reasearches.
