Why is it important?
Currently, most estimates of illicit markets provide country-level, yearly, estimations. Nevertheless, the illicit trade (like most criminal and social activities) concentrate in space. This study provide for the first time a simple and replicable method to break down national estimates into regional ones. This may enable better targeting of preventive and enforcement actions
