What is it about?

A unique pistol-sized bronze handgun decorated with human faces. Possibly related to the Germanic woodwose character of folklore.

Why is it important?

This is a unique piece with no direct analogue. Very few small guns like this have ever been found or documented.

Perspectives

I was fortunate enough to personally acquire this object for the national collection of arms and armour on behalf of the Royal Armouries.
