What is it about?
Twelve accessions of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) were screened for tolerance to induced-water stress in vitro using mannitol. Growth parameters of Cassava were measured and adequate statistical analyses were done to detect variances in the performance of the accessions for induced-water stress tolerance.

Why is it important?
Cassava is naturally tolerant to drought but the current global climate change may pose a challenge on its tolerant ability. It is therefore important to screen cassava germplasms for tolerance to drought in a more fast and reliable way through the use of Biotechnology.
Perspectives
This article is of great pleasure to me, because it's my first research article and it is very original. Moreso, it was conducted in state-of-the-art facility at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA).
