What is it about?
The research explains how to predict the amount of graphene and its orientation (angle w.r.t to crack) to increase the strength of an epoxy composite. This can be extended to predict for any polymer or fiber reinforced polymer composites.

Why is it important?
This is a first modeling based approach to quantify the effect of the orientation of graphene w.r.t the crack in a specimen on the toughness and strength of a material. It would be a valuable numerical model to predict the amount and relative orientation of graphene to tailor make nano composites according to the application.
