Why is it important?
It explores self-inquisitiveness from the standpoint of trying to better know the self rather than ulterior motives (e.g., self-presentation strategies) by identifying knowledge gaps in our self-knowledge, and also addresses what it might mean to go from looking inward to looking to define the self in a way that is also self-transcendent.
