This article provides an overview of the rationale for and the feasibility of asteroid mining, based on current technology and information. Analysts indicate that asteroids may contain valuable elements like platinum group metals (PGMs), gold and germanium. Identified I have explored the feasibility of mining PGMs and other precious metals to be marketed to the Earth market. Industrial metals, because of their price structure, can only be marketed in the space market, which does not yet exists.
