What is it about?

Injustice and inequity is about as extreme as it has ever been. As the winning classes of the global South become rich, they turn to international (IB) schools for that special something to give their kids the edge in the global market place.

Why is it important?

These schools are all about equity and making the world a better place, but what can they really do to actually transform the world, other than teach rich kids how to sound like they care? At the end of the day, being able to empathise with the poor and downtrodden is a valuable resource if you want to exploit them. So what is it these schools really teach when they talk of values?

Perspectives

The international schools field, and the IB lead in an area of exponential growth. The global South cannot get enough of international schools. However, these schools live a double life, on the one hand, they are all about fairness, peace and equity, and on the other, it is all about bling, image, wealth, and superficial glitz.
