What is it about?

Through to study the results of prenatal diagnosis and pregnancy outcomes in three groups of NT unchanged group, thinned group and thicken group, we found that the chromosomal abnormalities rate and adverse perinatal outcome rate were worse if NT continues to thicken. However, the perinatal outcome of the NT thinned group is no better than the NT unchanged case.

Why is it important?

In the study, the chromosomal abnormalities rate and adverse pregnancy outcome were higher if NT continued to thicken. However, even if the NT value becomes diminished, the risk of adverse pregnancy will not be decreased. Our finding can help clinical genetic counseling and treatment for increased NT cases.

Perspectives

I hope that my findings will help clinicians to better evaluate the prognosis and genetic counseling of pregnancy women with fetal increased NT thickness.
