What is it about?
Sleep disturbances are common during pregnancy. We conducted this cross-sectional survey to explore sleep quality in a population of Chinese women, with the purpose of: (a) calculating the prevalence of sleep disorder during pregnancy, (b) examining differences in sleep quality among the three trimesters, and (c) identifying determinants of sleep quality in pregnant women.

Perspectives
Prenatal depression, increased age and gestational age are determinants of sleep quality in pregnant women, further research should incorporate these variables into a supportive model of sleep-related prenatal care.
