What is it about?
This article shows how Catalans use Carnival to express social commentary and basic ideas about their society that differ from European norms. Instead of "citizens," there are "neighbors," instead of "immigrants" there are "newcomers," and instead of "diversity" or "tolerance" there is "convivència" or "engaged relationship with one's neighbors."
