Why is it important?

Based on field research, our study finds that in spite of challenges, NGOs have been playing a vital role in providing educational services to the conflict-affected communities in the tribal areas of Pakistan. Disseminating information, solutions for resuming education, improving school enrollment, psychosocial support and promoting quality education lies at the forefront of NGOs’ battle in the conflict affected areas.

Perspectives

I hope this article addresses a call for a better understanding of how NGOs function and contribute to peace-building and development through the provision of educational services in conflict zones. Because NGOs have been prominently involved in the achievement of EFA and MDG by playing different roles in supporting conflict-affected states, which have limited capabilities in education service delivery.
