What is it about?

This is an article about how people in Scotland train to become teachers whose classrooms are run in Gaelic rather than English.

Perspectives

This article comes out of a piece of research I was hired to do with my collaborators, (Dr. Douglas Chalmers, Prof. Mike Danson, Eilidh Danson, and Prof. Peter Neil) for Bòrd na Gàidhlig. To collect the data for the larger report and this article, we spoke with teachers and teacher educators throughout Scotland. We also ran an online survey for Gaelic Medium teachers in Scotland about their experiences whilst training to enter the classroom. I love the opportunity to learn from teachers and always hope I do them justice in reporting.
