Why is it important?
The essay traces the politics and aesthetics of the German modern dance philosophy in US American exile and the blurring of antifascist and protofascist concepts.
Perspectives
The essay gives a new perspective on dance and performance artists in exile in the United States. Not all Germans were in exile yet the distinction and understanding of reasons for travel and need to escape have to be investigated.
