The fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world. This paper examines how fashion brands can integrate sustainable design principles, highlighting current trends and opportunities within sustainability, offering solutions to the challenges.

Why is it important?

We define how sustainable design can be integrated in to the fashion education system through a practice led research project undertaken as module leader for Zero Waste Fashion Design initiated and developed by Debbie Moorhouse who is the co-founder of the International Society For Sustainable Fashion.

Perspectives

I was invited to present this article at the European Academy of Design inaugural Design For Next international conference in Rome. It was a pleasure to publish this research in association with the International Society For Sustainable Fashion and Certified Made in the UK organisation.
