What is it about?

The mixed methods paper sought to determine if the varied forms of assistance to returnee overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) during this COVID-19 pandemic prompt them to stay home or return overseas.

Why is it important?

The paper matters because migrant workers were adversely affected by COVID-19's economic wrath. Now that the world has become more mobile, migration is returning back to normal. Countries of origin must therefore learn from the pandemic and prepare policies and measures for the return migration of their migrant workers.

Perspectives

Return migration policies and measures by migrants' origin countries became sorely needed during the pandemic. The Philippines had these efforts, amid their imperfections, especially since over-two million migrant workers returned home. Doing this paper was driven by the tales of Filipino workers during the pandemic.
