Why is it important?
Findings show that true peak altitudes range from a few and up to several hundred metres from the altitude recorded in some sources.
Perspectives
We checked only a few summits but there are possibly other cartographic misrepresentations and inaccuracies in scores of popular peaks around the globe, and rectifying erroneous information this is vital to peak-bagging visitors.
