What is it about?

This article investigates the health and science policies of the New Party, British Union of Fascists and Union Movement. It may be read for free here http://www.tandfonline.com/eprint/rIWIZ4H5pV9MAuEigPti/full

Why is it important?

The literature on the BUF is copious, but to my knowledge this is the first piece of work which concentrates on health and science within this party. By also considering the New Party and the post-war Union Movement a longitudinal perspective is added. Oswald Mosley was forever claiming science as a justification for his reordering of society. This article argues that his focus on science was perhaps genuine but was not developed in any meaningful way.
