Why is it important?

The research findings teach us that collaboration with colleagues are perceived by teacher educators as one of the most important components of their professional doings. This component is expressed both in the context of their day to day work and in the context of development, research and professional development. This research also teaches us about the characteristics and nature of collaborations as well as colleagues with whom the teacher educators prefer to collaborate, the way in which they collaborate, their advantages, and the important role that teacher education institutions play in encouraging collaboration among staff members.

Perspectives

One can learn from this research that collaboration with colleagues improves teaching practices and enhances higher education quality, and therefore institutions for teacher education must create a culture of collaboration and enable teacher educations to work in a collaborative environment.
