What is it about?
Qualitative comparative analysis looks at roadside memorials in two post-communist countries, the Czech Republic and Romania. It is based on field research and interviews with people who erected and maintained roadside memorials.

Why is it important?
There is only limited number on roadside memorials in Central and Eastern Europe. It shows huge differences between the countries under study. Religion plays far more important role in Romania when compared with the Czech Republic when building of memorials and their meanings are compared.
