What is it about?

OT and SP students need to learn how to work together. In this project they worked through a case in groups using video and paper resources around a child with autism. The aim was to learn interprofessional skills, how to communicate and negotiate to meet client needs.

Why is it important?

It is important to know students can develop these skills in whole class tutorials using relevant resources rather than in more expensive small group simulations.

Perspectives

I enjoyed reading how much students engaged and learnt from this tutorial. One student said to me verbally - that was the best thing I've ever done at uni! I hope others are able to access and use the resources which are freely available on the Edith Cowan University website under interprofessional resources. There are 17 case studies altogether.
