What is it about?

We studied the biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons (PHCs) which was extracted from the refinery wastewater to produce industrially important by-products at different incubation periods.

Why is it important?

This study strongly recommends the potential microbial degradation of PHCs in refinery wastewater to produce industrially important byproducts and to reduce environmental pollution.

Perspectives

There is the growing interest of treating petrochemical wastewater among scientific society. It is because, such biological transformation considered as the important solution to cope with the problem of environmental pollution. This study concluded that the biodegradation technology of PHCs contaminated refinery wastewater is significant to produce industrially important by-products.
