Why is it important?
The model of poverty tested in this study combines various veins of research on poverty and its effects on youth into a single, easy-to-grasp model.
Perspectives
While it's long been established that poverty can lead to compromised well-being and negative outcomes among youth, much less is known about the mechanisms or pathways through which poverty exerts its effects. The triarchic model of poverty, while not perfect, does represent a good initial effort to explain how poverty can compromise youth well-being and lead to negative outcomes.
