What is it about?
This is a brief summary of my monograph on the history of international relations between Württemberg (part of the Land of Baden-Württemberg in southwest Germany) and Japan. It seeks to demonstrate that bilateral international relations at the subnational level, at least from the point of view of one part, tend to focus more on the economy and culture thereby being less vulnerable to diplomatic crises.
