What is it about?
In this paper, I explore what in the field of public administration is called the politics-administration dichotomy. The basic idea of this notion is that administration functions independently of the political space. Using the ideas of Jacques Ranciére, I explain how the practices of public administration are indeed reflective of what he calls la police (translated to English as policy). In short, administration is not independent of politics but is indeed an effort to close off politics.
