What is it about?

In brief, this research is a placebo controlled clinical trial that shows a link between major depressive disorder and hypertension. It demonstrates that depressive and hypertensive individuals have their heart rate decreased , but not their blood pressure values, when they were treated for depression with escitalopram.

This research shows that more work should be done in order to elucidate the mechanisms which mental disorders are related to hypertension development.
