Why is it important?

This work gives an insight into the relationships between structural physicochemical properties and aquatic toxicity as well as a satisfactory quantitative structure-property correlation allowing prediction of ILs aquatic toxicity scores.

Perspectives

New in silico physicochemical descriptors for both the cationic and the anionic counterparts of ionic liquids can be related to aquatic toxicity by means of a QSPR model. In perspective analogous QSPR models can be developed to relate ionic liquids structural features to toxicity and physicochemical properties.
