The paper shows that the images would be there to be, potentially, activated during the liturgical ceremony in order to reveal the efficacy of the sacrament.
Perspectives
This text proposes the potential relationship between gesture, words and paintings, as they could have been in the eighteenth century. In the analysis, we decided to put into dialogue the resonances intended by the Church and the reception by the Indigenous community.
