What is it about?

The diazonium salt formed by reaction of pararosaniline with nitrous acid has been claimed to have fixative action on animal tissues. In the work described in this paper, I found no evidence for a ‘‘fixative’’ action of hexazonium pararosaniline on cryostat sections of unfixed muscle or lymphoid tissues. The protective effect on frozen sections of unfixed tissue was attributed to the low pH of the solution.
