What is it about?
Rain precipitation samples are used to determine if acid rain could be related to the type of cloud. Acid rain is found to occur regardless of whether it is caused by frontal or convective precipitation. However, it does appear to be determined by the origin of the air mass, determined by the use of retrotrajectories.

Why is it important?
This paper refuted other articles suggesting that acid rain seemed to be related to the type of cloud. Using statistical analysis, it is shown that it is rather related to the origin of the air mass.
