What is it about?
This article looks into the theory and practice of the social movement National Democratic Front of the Philippines' revolutionary justice system. I present the revolutionary justice system as a primary justice system with potential to be consistent with international legal rules. I further compare the performance of the revolutionary justice in addressing common crimes and crimes of perceived "enemies of the people".
Why is it important?
Revolutionary justice merits understanding as redress provided by a social movement for those marginalised by the state. This is the first academic publication on the revolutionary justice system practiced in the Philippines.
