The paper is based on 130 quantitative interviews with visitors to the Stockman's Hall of Fame and discusses the meaning of the site to these visitors. It also explores the gendered identity work that visitors do while visiting, and the ways in which visitors negotiate both the presence of women and Indigenous People within Australia's frontier and rural history.
