Why is it important?
Fluorescent technique has been used to characterise the morphology of polymer modified bitumen for years. However, the main problem of this technique is a missing standardised protocol for image capture factors and processing algorithms.
Perspectives
Future studies aim to quantify the microstructure of polymer and establish a relationship model between rheological performance and microstructure parameters based on the protocol mentioned in this study, taking preparation conditions such as mixing time, speed and temperature into consideration.
