What is it about?

Fructose is a common sugar found in most beverage and sweets. We have shown that the fructose stimulate factors on hypothalamus that produces lipids and can alters the inflammation initial steps. It could cause dysregulation of the pathways that controls food intake and metabolism.

Why is it important?

Our results points to the risks of high intake of fructose on some aspects of central nervous system.

Perspectives

This paper comes from an personal will of investigate fructose on central aspects. I wanted to show that the intake of high amounts of fructose can cause much more "damage" than we're already aware. It derivates from my PhD thesis and it's approval for publish was a very pleasant news at the end of 2017's.
