It's a book review of Oscar Wilde’s Elegant Republic by David Charles Rose, which is about Oscar Wilde's links with Paris.

Why is it important?

This is (as far as I know) the only review from someone with a background in French studies. In particular, I took issues with the inconsistent use of citing in French and English and identified a few errors as well.

Perspectives

I think my attitude to the publication comes through in the review.
