Why is it important?

These characteristics are important for a better understanding of the main feature of transition period in post-communist countries. This article tries to contribute to filling some of this gap in knowledge by focusing on the worldview of the Romanian managerial elite, its perspective on the transition process, and the values and principles that lie behind its behaviour. It focuses on the discourse of the Romanian post-communist managerial elite, and on the way the managers behaved as an interest group during the transition.

Perspectives

The study's conclusions reveal a better perspective on the main phenomenon experienced by Romania and other post-communist countries such as: slow privatisation, opposition to transformation, tensions between market mechanisms and informal networks, etc.
